This year astronomical winter will begin tomorrow, on the 21st of December. In the Northern emisphere this will be the shortest day and the longest night of the year.
Many trees haven't lost their brown leaves yet.
But some trees have already lost their leaves completely.
Olive trees don't lose their leaves in winter. The following photo shows a 150 year old olive tree.
The average lifespan of an olive tree is around 500 years.
Have a great winter ⛄
...WOW, the average lifespan of an olive tree is around 500 years?
ReplyDeleteYes. And the world's oldest olive tree is in the Greek island of Crete. It has remained alive and fruitful for 3000 years ‼

ReplyDeleteGiorgio, I didn't know that olive trees live so long! In my opinion, these are very nice trees and I regret that they don't grow in Poland. In my garden new violets bloomed, the trees have buds. On previous days the temperature was even 15 degrees Celsius during the day, at night even 8-9!!!
ReplyDeleteGiorgio, I salute you!
