Christmas cold-bloodedly attack

On 28 December our blogger friend from Poland, Anna , published her point of view about the perpetrator of the Magdeburg's Christmas massacre. She rightly wrote that the author of the deadly attack is a murderer.  He cannot be called otherwhise,  as he cold-bloodedly attacked  Christian people  while they were enjoying a time of joy. In this perspective, Berlin's judges  must not talk about any mental disorder or other problems.  He killed people guilty of being Christians.

All German tourists I host last Summer  told me about Germany's bad situation due to mass immigration. I think that policy-makers' hypocrisy of altruism about illegal and unchecked mass immigration has been destroying European tradition.

According to a British online newspaper (The Independent, that's its name), Christmas markets date to the late middle ages in the German-speaking part of Europe. And the older Christmas market can be found in Wien (1296). I don't think the killer acted alone. I don't think  he is mad ... it is all too clear that they want to destroy our identity.

I took the 1st and the 3rd above photos from Munchen's rooftops ten years ago, before the wicked migration policy had damaged Germany. The 2nd one was taken in 2010 from Berlin TV Tower.

Christmas markets in EU

Almost a decade ago, UAE Foreign Minister, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, warned EU governments of what would happen if they continued down their path of suicidal altruism by inviting dangerous fanatics into their countries. They should have listened, as there  have been at least seven attacks on Christmas markets in recent years, four in Germany and three in France.

(in 2014, when Christmas markets weren't hit yet, I took the above photo from MΓΌnchen's rooftops)

Now, after the Magdeburg's Christmas market attack, many European policy-makers try to deny the connection between mass migration and acts of terrorism. But there are evidence that before the migration crisis such attacks did not happen in Europe.

The start of winter in the Northern emisphere.

This year astronomical winter will begin tomorrow, on the 21st of December. In the Northern emisphere this will be the shortest day and the longest night of the year.

Many trees haven't lost their brown leaves yet.

But some trees have already lost their leaves completely.

Olive trees don't lose their leaves in winter. The following photo shows a 150 year old olive tree.

The average lifespan of an olive tree is around 500 years.

Have a great winter

Freeway, highway or motorway

Last summer, since early June to late September, I had been hosting some Anglo-Saxon people, who mainly came from Florida (US), Northern Ireland, England, Canada and Australia. They were coming here in my town for one or two days, as they would boarding the cruise ships at the Civitavecchia's port cruise terminal.

Civitavecchia is ranking as the 2nd busiest cruise port in the Mediterranean Sea, as most tourists who embark on a cruise in the Mediterranean come here to reach the docks for cruise ships.

Speaking with foreign tourists gave me the opportunity to learn that some words are different in American English, British English and Australian English. I have heard that some British English words come from French roots, while American English has occasionally replaced more traditional English words with their Spanish counterparts. For example one of my guests, Deanna Linney from Melburne, explained that the three words "freeway" (American English), "highway" (Australian English) and "motorway" (British English) have the same meaning in the three different Anglo-Saxon countries.

I speak once again about olive trees, which I've already mentioned in my previous post. The following photo shows the soft path through those  typical trees of the Medirreanean area where I sometimes go running/walking.  The olive trees in the photo are more than 150 years old.

Last week I enjoyed a beautiful rainbow while I was walking through the park.

The rainbow also stretched over the children playground.

Rainy weather may sometimes shows such a beautiful optical phenomenon.

Olive trees need cold weather

During last week  I have noticed that the temperature was as cold as it should be. This is very good for olive trees, which need at least three months per year of cold weather to improve flower and fruit production.

Olive trees can tolerate a wide range of temperatures. They will survive with no ill effects in temperatures as low as -15° Celsius.
As it is known, there is a great talk about climate change, and farmers involved in olive and olive oil export are afraid that a less cold winter may affect the production.

Italy is capable of supplying a significant part of olive oil global demand, as olive trees are grown across the whole Italian peninsula.

The main destinations of Italy export on olive oil are South Korea, United States and Germany. With 36% of world export, Spain is the main exporter of olive oil worldwide.

Meanwhile, Autumn still continues to show its marvelous colours.

I took the above pictures in Central Italy, 40 km North of Rome.

COP 29

On November 24 the UN climate conference in Baku, Azerbaijan, concluded with a not binding agreement to protect lives and livelihoods from the worsening impact of climate change. Unfortunately, the latter term is not interchangeable with term "global warming", although there are evidence that since 1800s human activities have been the main driver of the heating of earth's surface.

Climatic variations can be regarded as the main cause of desertification. This factor is increasingly turning our world's drylands into deserts.
Africa is the driest of the world continents with 45% of its landmass falling into dry mass.

The two photos have been just took by my daughter, Laura, who is visiting the Eastern part of Morocco right now.

Continuation of inequality

I would like to thank those blogger friends who have shared their thought about political and economic interest that are fueling wars in East Europe and Middle East. Despite it is easy to understand that many people don't like to talk about this hot topic, I think it's time to write down a few thoughts about predators interested in starting and maintaining wars.

The main problem, in my opinion, is that the high level of weapons & missiles spending is strictly related to the fact that the military industrial complex is privatized in a widely known part of the world. In this perspective, it's no coincidence that private arms manufacturers sell most of their products to governments, whose policy-makers behave as puppets.

But that's not all, as coincidentally the main investors of arms manufacturers are the top ten world investment management companies. The question is who will be the next? Moldova, Georgia, Taiwan or Iran? War spending is the main mechanism for increasing the concentration of capital among the 0.05 percent richer people. This means the continuation of inequality.

Just sentenced to death

I would like to share a news I've just heard from an East Asia's daily newpaper: former Bank of China's chairman, Liu Liange , was just sentenced to death.  He was found to have issued illegal loans and accepted bribes worth around $ 16.7 million.

In same Western countries he would have been given a top ranking government position.

Prolonged the war in Ukraine

Investment management companies are still seeking to prolong the war in Ukraine to keep the cost of rebuilding higher daily.

If we were to analyse the main geopolics event, that have took place since late 2020, we would see more wars compared with the previous four years: the Iran-Israel esclation, the Ukraine debacle, the war in Lebanon, the Taiwan's provocation and the Gaza's genocide. And with regards to the genocide just mentioned, after Israel's president had left 70k tonnes free-fall bombes on civilians, schools, hospitals and refugee shelters, he asked the United States Congress: "Give us the tools faster and we'll finish the job faster" ... and they gave him a standing ovation 53 times.

Ukraine's right to defend itself is praised by many international leaders while Russia's invasion is condemned, but commentators said the same cannot be said about Israel occupation of the West Bank and East Jerusalem, which are Palestinian territories.

In 1996 Samuel P. Hungtington wrote "The clash of civilizations", which still is one of the most  influential books of our wartime era. But all that we are witnessing is not a clash between civilizations, it's a clash between civilization and barbarism.

Trevignano Romano street view

This morning I spent a few hours in a small village located close to lake of Bracciano, a few kilometers North from Rome. In that small village there is a good technician who make orthopedic insoles. That's why I went to this lovely village.

The weather was so cloudy. It's typical of Autumn.

On this cloudy morning a saw an unusual pink & red mural while I was walking through the village. Unfortunately I dind't see the name of its author.

On the way back home I also enjoyed a path covered with brown leaves and fall colours of the trees surroundings the village.

The good news is that I didn't see waste left in the wood surrounding the village πŸ„πŸ‚πŸŒ°

Washing needs to be dried

In my previous post there were two pictures showing clothes hung out. I mentioned this point after I had noticed that tourists sometimes took photos of the washing while they are walking through the historic centre. Maybe they disagree on this, although people washing needs to be dried, as mentioned by Jan in her comment.

With relation to washing, another blogging friend, Ananka , also wrote that people need to do that.  I understand that elderly people can't carry their washing on the rooftop, as in many old buildings there isn't any elevator.

But the problem is that there are facade decorations on some old buildings, and hanging out clothes on the facade architecture is not a nice thingh to look at.

The solution could be to buy a clothes dryer.

... many times it is sold with free shipping on Alibaba, Amazon, etc.🀭

Saturday street view

There are many black birds flying in the sky on this sunny Saturday morning. It's a very good sign to experience.

It's a real pleasure to see that the facades of historic buildings have been just renovated. That colour is called Pompeian red, as it was born with the discovery  of the archaelogical site of Pompei in the 18th century.

Sorry to see clothes hanging on the facade of old buildings located in the historic centre of the town 🀭
There isn't any elevator in those old historic buildings. That's why elderly people are compelled to hang out clothes, which they have washed, on the historic facade as they can't get onto the rooftops.

Just a photo of the medieval part of the town taken from the rooftops.

Have a nice weekend!

Proceno castle

I took the above photo last month while I was visiting the old castle of Proceno. The family who own the castle have transformed their property in a guest house in an attempt to repopulate the old village of Proceno and its surroundings.

The property and its ten apartments are in great location in the historical area. They also serve a delicious continental breakfast of bread, cheese, fruit, grain like barley or oats, butter and honey. Proceno castle's breakfast also consists of  coffee, milk, tea and fruit juice, obviously.

I was glad to see some British tourists, who spent their holiday there at the castle. I saw them while they were enjoying the narrow alleys of the village surrounding the castle.

We decided to stay there at the Proceno castle guest house two days, as some friends of ours live in a village nearby. Each apartment has its front door and their furnishing style is combined with the architectural context and the site's prior use.

All Saints' day is both a public and religious holiday in Italy on the 1st  November.

Have a nice month of November πŸ‚

Vespa, 2CV and three-wheeled small truck

That model motor scooter in the above photo has been manufactured since 1946. It quickly became a symbol of  scooting along narrow coastal roads and elevated Italian design world over. Its success went beyond all expectations.
Glad to see those old scooters still working along the Italian roads.

The third photo (below) shows a Citroen 2CV. The manifacture of the small 2CV began in France in 1948. I've just seen it in small village.

The Citroen 2CV, which was equipped with an engine of 375 cm3,  rolled off line in 1988.

Glad to see those old car still working on the road.

And last but not least, on a foggy morning last week I saw a small three-wheeled farm truck. The owner had parked it in a very narrow space near his front door :-)
That three-wheeled commercial vehicle has been manufactured and marketed by the Italian company, Piaggio, since 1947.

Have a nice weekend!
