I wanted to share this map that was published by the Italian newpaper "Corriere della sera" on the 18th January, 2026. People and journalists often speak about the so called risk of third world war. It is not the case, as there is already a global war.
The map shows all the current wars and tensions across the world.
On the 22nd of June, 2025, US cruise missiles hit Iran. US missiles also hit Somalia and Yemen.
Israel is still carrying on the ethnic cleansing of poor Palestinian people in Gaza, West Bank and East Jerusalem.
Israel is at war with Palestine, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen.
On the 25th December, 2025, US missiles hit Nigeria's Jihad groups.
On the 3rd January, 2026, Venezuela President, Maduro, was kidnapped by the Americans. The US has seized a sixth Venezuela-linked oil tanker in the Caribbean Sea. These are acts of war.
The Ukraine-Russia war still continues and Kiev has already lost more than one fifth of its territory.
Trump has just threatened Cuba, Mexico, Colombia and Canada.
Trump wants to occupy Greenland. He has just said that European countries that opposed to his plan to occupy/buy Greenland will face 10% tariffs customs from February.
Some European countries will send warships, submarines, troops and military equipment to Greenland as soon as possible.
Trump imposed high tariff rate on US trading partners, including China, Mexico and Canada, on cars, eavy trucks, aluminium, furniture, lumber, pharmaceuticals, semiconductors and copper, among others. The highest average rate since 1943 ‼
We should learn from history. With regards to Greenland, Trump's behaviour reminds me Hitler's justfication for invading the Sudeteland in Czechoslovakia in 1939. He claimed that if Germany didn't take it, then others might, which was the main part of Hitler's justification. Trump sounds exactly the same, considering that he says there is immediate security threat to Greenland from Russia or China.
The German philosopher Georg Wilhelm Fredrick Hegel wrote that while history offers lessons, people, nations and leaders often fail to apply them.

Hi Giorgio,
ReplyDeleteI read your post with great interest. Giorgio, my friend, when I talk about World War III, my opinion is different, at least partially. I often say that the Covid-19 pandemic was part of World War III.
Giorgio, I send you greetings!
Dear Anna, I have heard about the comparison between COVID‐19 pandemic and a global war. A war unites people against a common enemy, and the virus is the ‘invisible enemy’ 😷
DeleteI appreciate you sharing your point of view.
You know that we are on the same page about this. WW3 in full is emanate. While in the US the "thing" has set up the dynamics for civil war. Thus the ICE enforcers that beat and kill on sight and imprison not only immigrants but US citizens as well. We have been told to carry prof of citizenship but it doesn't matter. Once civil war opens up the "thing" can and will halt elections. His plan is being executed with maximum strength. If war unites people against a common enemy, what "people" will come against the US and the "thing"?
ReplyDeleteIt's not easy to answer your question, dear Nicole. Our Prime Minister has just said it's important not to send aggressive and incomprehensible messages to Washington (with regards to Greenland). That's why she thinks that the EU and the UK have to act in the NATO framework.
DeleteToday the Italian Prime Minister had a phone conversation with Trump, because she is trying to mediate between Brussels and Washington.
The topics of the phone call were Greenland and tariff customs relief. Unfortunately, it seems the outcome of the phone call was not satisfactory.
I'm sorry to hear that the "thing" has chosen the path of chaos in terms of internal politics. Actually, chaos can be a deliberate political tool to distract and increase political power. We wait and see what the so called civilized world will be able to do.

...wars seem to be everywhere!
ReplyDeleteRight, there are wars from the Caribbean area to Eastern Europe and from the Artic Sea to the Middle East.
DeleteVamo camino a ello. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteGiorgio, I agree with you. World War III is currently underway. It's just not like World Wars I and II. War in the modern world is different.
ReplyDeleteExactly, Irina. The modalities of each world war are different from the previous one.
DeleteI've heard this about the yellow haired man, he just wants everything to be his. Wars seem to never end unfortunately and still and will continue on. The world is in a mess.
ReplyDeleteThat's true, Margaret. The world is in a mess, thanks to that yellow haired man 🐷 and his billionaires friends. I think Eurasian countries have to join togheter, due to the fact that United States' elite have took off their mask. American billionaires who rule the US are not reliable both politically and commercially. The North Atlantic Teatry Organization will not exist anymore.
DeleteThanks for sharing your comment 🙂
ReplyDeleteIt all comes down to this. I'm curious to see what Europe will do now.
I wish you a wonderful new week. :)
Your post forcefully argues that what is often framed as a looming future conflict is, in your view, an already-unfolding global war
ReplyDeleteThe world is not in a good place at the moment.
ReplyDeleteWe wait to see what will happen next!
All the best Jan
That's a good point WW3 is here with all those wars going on just now. I hadn't thought about it like that before Giorgio.
ReplyDeleteThe quote from the philosopher is so very true. People don't often learn from mistakes in the past. In 2026 we should be living in a good world, not a crazy world like this. And I think it's only going to get worse too.
That's really a crazy world, Ananka. Our past should be just a lesson. Unfortunately, it is not always the case.
DeleteI appreciate you reading my post and leaving a comment :-)
It's sad 😔 to see wars 😢
