Writing on buildings or trains without permission is illegal. That's vandalism.
Unfortunately, penal law doesn't prescribe the vandals' punishment as it should.
I would like to force the vandals to pay for all repair and cleaning.

ReplyDeleteIt's the same here. On trains, historical buildings, apartment buildings... everywhere. It's neither artistic nor conveying any message. Just vandalism.

DeleteIch finde es ganz schlimm, wenn überall Graffiti zu finden sind. Hier werden sie oft an Tunnelwände oder andere öffentliche Flächen geschmiert. An Zügen ist es besser geworden.

ReplyDeleteI hate vandalism too. I get angry when I see buildings and other objects damaged, painted, or scribbled on. Unfortunately, this is a very common occurrence in Poland.

Illegal graffiti is rampant here in the US too. The laws are under local jurisdiction categorized as vandalism or criminal mischief laws. There are no national statistics and even though there are some arrests not many are caught or turned in.

Sometimes when I see graffiti in unusual places, I wonder how did the people even get in the location and survive to paint the graffiti!!! Another weekend upon us, I hope you enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteIt is incredibly frustrating to see trains and buildings defaced, especially when you think about the massive amount of tax dollars and time that goes into cleaning it all up. Your idea of making the vandals directly foot the bill for the repairs and cleanup makes total sense, there is no better deterrent than hitting a lawbreaker right in the wallet. Hopefully, you won't spot any unwanted graffiti on your travels this weekend. Have a wonderful, relaxing weekend ahead.
