Huge congrats to the British prime minister, Keir Starmer, who blocked the US military from using critical strategic assets.
For the first time in modern history a British prime minister denied the US permission to launch offensive strikes from Royal Air Force Fairford in Gloucestershire and sovereign base at Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean.
Starmer mentioned the catastrophic mistake in Iraq and the 2003 US misadventure drive by faulty intelligence regarding weapons of mass destruction. He underlined that the UK would not participate in regime change in Iran from the sky without a clear lawful mandate.

...but Trump says that he's a brilliant business man!
ReplyDeletemaybe he is good for his billionaire friends.
DeleteI agree hurrayyy for the UK. The world ecconomy will suffer for a long while with the "thing" in power. Thank you for a great post.
ReplyDeleteI hope he will be impeached soon, as nodoby gives him the right to do so.
Deleteoops spelled economy wrong. LOL
ReplyDeleteI've read that they are using Scottish bases. I do not like Starmer at all, I think he is an idiot. He should NEVER have joined in to begin with. Most of the people here want rid of him and the SNP!
ReplyDeleteHope you are well Giorgio. I was in Glasgow today. I got some photos of the damage the fire did near the train station.
Looking forward to seeing on your blog the photos took in Glasgow today.

ReplyDeleteI think it's good that, wherever possible, people avoid buying products from the USA.
Also for the sake of the environment. :)
True, because those US product, such as soybeans, walnuts and dried plums, are shipped from the other emisphere. And shipping goods across continents and oceans generates CO2 emissions annually.
DeleteYou have mentioned an interesting point, Andrea.
Greetings,

Hello, Giorgio! I don't trust Starmer, Merz, or Macron. They lie all the time. Today they say they won't attack Iran, and tomorrow they change their minds.
ReplyDeleteWe wait and see what he, Starmer, will do. I'm talking about the British prime minister's decision, not of Macron or Merz.
DeleteTienes razón. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteI suppose each country will do what they want to do. I'm glad Australia is not too close.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I'm sorry to say that it is not the case, dear Margaret. There are some countries that can't do what they want to do. For instance, France prime minister and Turkyie prime minister can do want they want to do, as they are leaders of two sovereign states. Now Starmer is trying to demonstrate that the UK maintains its sovereign and independent government.
DeleteSome analysts argue Britain is becoming a "vassal state" due to strategic partnership with the US and intense economic and military dependence. Not to mention of Italy and Germany🤨
DeleteUn caro saluto.
