Consumer choices

I've noticed that when people trust a brand, they may automatically assume that its products are the best and stop looking at alternatives. Consumers stick with a brand as soon as they still feel they are getting good value for their money. In addition, we are habit forming and confort seeking.

As it is known, we tend to resist to change, and to prefer brands that are familiar. In this perspective, a moderate price increase of our favourite brand isn't necessarily a reason to leave, especially if the quality remains good.

I think that sometimes brand loyalty can definitely limit consumer choices.

Do you think a substitute can eventually become more successful than the original brand if it offers a lower price ❓

Have a lovelty month of November.

  1. I tend to stick with brands I like and have found to be good value. I also patronize my favourite stores, always doing as much as possible to support local merchants.

    Hi Giorgio!
When I buy clothes or shoes, I never look at the brand or the company. I buy something if I like it and the price is "reasonable"—I won't overpay. As for perfumes and cosmetics, I have my own preferred brands that I’ve remained loyal to for years. In my opinion, a brand or company name doesn't necessarily equate to quality. I often buy items that aren't advertised.
Giorgio, I wish you a good, pleasant start to the new week!
    P.S.
Giorgio, have there been any reports on Italian news since Friday evening regarding the events in Poland? Prime Minister Donald Tusk allegedly tried to stage a coup d'état in Poland.

    1. Yes, Anna. That news has been spreading in Italy since yesterday. Today the newspapers are reporting an institutional crisis regarding the appointment of eight new judges to the Constitutional Court.
