That model motor scooter in the above photo has been manufactured since 1946. It quickly became a symbol of scooting along narrow coastal roads and elevated Italian design world over. Its success went beyond all expectations.
Glad to see those old scooters still working along the Italian roads.
The third photo (below) shows a Citroen 2CV. The manifacture of the small 2CV began in France in 1948. I've just seen it in small village.
The Citroen 2CV, which was equipped with an engine of 375 cm3, rolled off line in 1988.
Glad to see those old car still working on the road.
And last but not least, on a foggy morning last week I saw a small three-wheeled farm truck. The owner had parked it in a very narrow space near his front door :-)
That three-wheeled commercial vehicle has been manufactured and marketed by the Italian company, Piaggio, since 1947.
Very classic shots of traditions
ReplyDeleteTrue, they are symbols.
DeleteWhat a delightful trip down memory lane! The Vespa and Citroen 2CV are such classics—it's awesome to see them still cruising around! And I can only imagine how cute that three-wheeled truck looks parked by the door. Thanks for sharing these cool bits of automotive history! Have a great weekend, Giorgio!
ReplyDelete... and those old vehicles still work!
Delete...in my mine, the Vespa has always been cool, the Citroen on the other hand never was.
ReplyDeleteI think they are known around the world.
DeleteWhat energetic colors they have!
ReplyDeleteThat's true! Most people wouldn't like a black Vespa or a brown 2CV.
DeleteA nostalgic trip to the past :)
ReplyDeleteGiorgio very nice photos. I salute you too and I wish you a good tonight and Sunday!
Thank you, Anna! Same to you :-)

As a young girl I had a red Vespa.
Wish you a very nice evening
I think your red Vespa was beautiful! I had a green one :-)
DeleteHave a nice Sunday!
Bellissima vespa e automobili.Buona domenica.
ReplyDeleteThank you for leaving your comment, Olga!
DeleteGreat post and it was lovely to see these three vehicles.
ReplyDeleteI always thought the Citroen 2CV looked a fun car, although I've never owned one of driven/been in one.
Have a good weekend, here in the UK many have had some Autumn sunshine.
All the best Jan

I had a Vespa scooter when I was a teenager. It served me well.
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear you had a Vespa when you were younger :-)
DeleteApe is. super! Citroen is the famous Diane 6 isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI don't think so, Daniele. They were two different cars made by the French car manufacturer, Citroën. They both had the same engine (602 cm3), but the Citroën Dyane was an improvement on the Citroën 2CV.
DeleteThanks for the appreciation :-)
Siempre me han gustado las vespas. te mando un beso y te deseo una buena semana.
