I have noticed that tourists who come from North Europe, Australia and American continent don't like the typical Italian and French breakfast. They say our breakfast is not well balanced as their, due to the fact that it lacks protein. That's why they always ask us to serve them scrambled eggs or yogurt.
It's fair to say that the Italian cappuccino, which is a hot beverage consisting of espresso coffee with steamed milk, contains protein, primarily from the milk used in its preparation. On the contrary, croissants contain carbohydrates.
Meanwhile many tourists continue to flock to the Italian peninsula. The good news for them is that the weather is not too hot and humid this month.
Have a nice Sunday 🍉☀️🍹
Hi Giorgio, it is true that we opt for protein in breakfast, because it provides energy to start our day. An omelet, or eggs with either bacon, sausage or ham with toast and either coffee or tea is typical for an American or Canadian breakfast.
ReplyDeleteWhile I was visiting some North Europe's town, such as Berlin, Edinburgh and Dublin, breakfast always included eggs.
DeleteThank you for sharing information about you favourite breakfast 🍳☕🍩
In Italy I love drinking a cappuccino in the morning. <3
ReplyDeleteI wish you a great Sunday :)
I agree with you ☕
DeleteAh! I make cappuccino at home here with my coffee machine however, I don't drink much of it.
ReplyDeleteI have toast with butter and vegemite plus a cup of tea for my breakfast. Many Australians do when home.
Interesting information about the typical Australian breakfast.
DeleteIt’s interesting how cultural habits shape expectations, even at breakfast, yet the charm of Italy keeps visitors coming back regardless
ReplyDeleteThat's true, Roentare! For example traditional coffee in Italy is just espresso, a small one. Therefore that big coffee from Starbucks or Costa isn't something tourists will find in Italy.
DeleteWhile staying in Villabassa in Northern Italy for a hiking holiday back in June of 2019, breakfast was provided and included a mix of what Italians would eat and what us Canadians would eat. You know that saying "When in Rome...", so I ate your style of breakfast!
ReplyDeleteYes, Alexandra, I know many hotels and guest houses in Italy serve a buffet-style breakfast that includes toast, pastries, fruit, juice, cereals, beverages, and possibly eggs.
DeleteI hope you enjoyed the breakfast you had while you were visiting Northern Italy 🙂
...eggs are alway a part of my breakfast.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great source of protein! A single large egg provides about 6 grams of protein.
DeleteI have a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice for breakfast, then a glass of espresso coffee. Then I used to rush off to work.
ReplyDeleteProteins are left for a light sandwich lunch and a well prepared dinner.
Australians need to drink a lot!
Hels
Art and Architecture, mainly
I also like orange juice.
DeleteThank you for reading my post about food consumed during the first small meal of the day.
Hi Giorgio :)
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of breakfast... I almost never... eat breakfast! I don't like eating breakfast because I prefer lunch and dinner (even dinner late in the evening...). I also don't eat breakfast because, I... prefer to sleep a few minutes longer. If I do eat breakfast, it's something quick—a yogurt drink or a cookie.
Giorgio, I send you my best regards and wish you a good new week!
Breakfast is just a first very small meal of the day.
DeleteWow it's wonderful to start your day with these beautiful things.
ReplyDeleteIt's the 1st small meal of the day. It helps regulate blood sugar levels and the body's energy reserves.
Giorgio, for breakfast I like porridge or cottage cheese and a cup of coffee.
ReplyDeleteGoat milk makes a delicious cottage cheese..
DeleteI enjoy my breakfast light and fresh. The nice cappuccino is a part of it. Each culture has their own taste habits and preferences.
ReplyDeleteTrue, there're many habits relared to the first very small meal of the day.
DeleteI don't eat a breakfast most of the time. I just have a green tea or matcha tea. That coffee looks really fancy :-D
ReplyDeleteThe tourists are daft. I will take your breakfast any day.
ReplyDelete♥Querido amigo♥
ReplyDelete♥Te deseo de todo corazón un♥
♥¡Feliz inicio de semana!♥
♥Abrazos y te dejo besitos♥
It makes a lot of sense, though most of us are used to having some kind of savory or protein heavy option to start the day, and a croissant and coffee, while delicious, just don't offer that. I can definitely see why they'd be asking for eggs or yogurt to feel like they're getting a more substantial meal.
ReplyDeleteI just posted something new, and I'd love to hear what you think.
Breakfast usually reflects culture. Typical breakfast in North America is enough to last for the day, and the inclusion of items like sausages and bacon does nothing to improve its healthiness. My breakfast usually consists of a bowl of cereal.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blog
ReplyDeletePlease read my post
ReplyDeleteMy breakfast always features an egg and a cup of tea :)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your August days, the month is passing by quickly.
All the best Jan
