The machinery of Ukraine war's support begins to slow. And Western media begins to expose Kyiv government's scandals that were once overlooked.
The more Western investigators and journalists uncover about corruption and mismanagement in Ukraine, the easier it becomes for Washington & EU to justify a gradual disengagement without admitting strategic defeat to Russia.
I don't forget 2022 Pope Francis' interview with the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera. He said "Transatlantic military alliance "barking" at Russia's door may have led to Vladimir Putin's invasion of Ukraine". In other words, he said Ukraine war was perhaps somehow provoked.
The stupidity is that if someone were to understand how Russia-Ukraine war was provoked, he/she would be labelled as pro-Putin.
ReplyDeleteIt's unbelievable what's now coming to light. European media have been painting a false picture for far too long.
Nice evening Giorgio
Since 2022 EU media system has been talking about the importance of sanctions to Russia and Ukraine counteroffensive. To sum up, the Russian economy didn't collapse and Ukraine counteroffensive failed.
DeleteIt’s a bleak irony that acknowledging the complexities and missteps that contributed to the war is so often mistaken for taking sides, rather than simply seeking an honest account of how we arrived here.
ReplyDeleteBefore the war began in February, 2022, US & UK had already been providing missiles and military equipment to Ukraine.
DeleteAnd now they are shipping the same weapons and military equipment to Taiwan. I'm afraid we'll see in Taiwan the same movie as we saw in Ukraine. Easy to seek an "honest account of how we arrive" at war.
Meanwhile, the fragility of the Western military alliance has been exposed. But many citizens and journalists have been foolishly labeled pro-Putin, as they had already grasped this point three years ago.
ReplyDeleteGiorgio, this war was truly provoked. For eight years, our country demanded an end to the war in Donbas, but Ukraine continued to be pumped with weapons. Now the US, France, and Great Britain are pretending they don't remember. Are they all suffering from dementia?
ReplyDeleteIn Poland, a railway carrying weapons and military equipment to Ukraine was blown up. Who's to blame? Poland, as always, didn't conduct any investigation and immediately blamed Russia. Today I learned that Polish police found the terrorists. They were Ukrainians! But Tusk said Russia was still to blame.
I advise Poles to keep a close eye on Ukrainians living in Poland. Soon they'll be walking the streets with guns and killing everyone they find.
I have noticed that every time something blows up in Poland and its surroundings, Polish members of government immediately blame Russians with no evidence. I don't forget that on the 15th November, 2022, a missile struck Poland's territory, in the village of Przewodów near the border with Ukraine, killing two people. On the same day Poland soon blamed Russians.
DeleteOn the 16th November Poland and the head of the military alliance both said that a missile strike in Polish farmland that killed two people appeared to be unintentional and was probably launched by air defenses in neighboring Ukraine. There was evidence it was an Ukrainian missile and even the Pentagon didn't confirm that Russian missiles had hit Poland.
Thanks for leaving your comment, Irina.
Giorgio, we never launched any drones, we didn't kill Polish farmers in 2022, we didn't blow up a building or a railway in Poland. We never committed any acts of sabotage in Germany, the UK, France, Poland, or other countries.
DeleteRussia is always accused of the crimes committed by Ukraine. All those who blame Russia dream of igniting World War III. The Baltic states and Poland are particularly prolific in these unsubstantiated accusations.
Uy no lo sabía, te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteUkraine is not what it seems to be from what I've read and heard.
ReplyDeleteBut living on the other side of the world it's not shown on the TV news unless something bad seems to happen. So reading it mostly for me.
Seven people have been charged with coruption and five of them are in custody in Ukraine. We're talking about $ 100 million corruption scandal. In this context president Zelensky said: "effective action against corruption is very necessary". He made me laugh, as businessman Timur Mindich, who is close to president Zelensky, has been implicated.
Delete"The stupidity is that if someone were to understand how Russia-Ukraine war was provoked, he/she would be labelled as pro-Putin. " So true Giorgio, sometimes we cannot speak the truth we see without being labelled.
ReplyDeleteIt's slowly hitting the news over here but they are keeping most of it quiet, no wonder the amount we have helped them out with arms. Something which I totally disagree with. Giving them weapons will not stop any conflict. And at what cost to my country, I wonder?
The truth will come out soon enough Giorgio!
Dear Ananka,
DeleteI completely agree with you: Actually, giving them weapons, missiles and military equipment will not stop the war.
That's the same movie we already saw many times. For example, from 2020 to 2021 we couldn't say the truth about multinational investment management companies that invested in vaccine (sort of). People and journalists couldn't gave enphasis to the fact that Moderna, Pfizer, AstraZeneca and Johnson's stocks were rising sharply, because they would be labelled as anti-vaccine activists 😷
And we now are on the same boat, as nobody says that weapons, missiles, military equipment and tanks have been shipped to Ukraine since 2019. Members of the Russian government saw an arm race in their neighboring country.
I'm afraid we'll see in Taiwan the same movie as we saw in Ukraine.
Thank you for sharing your interesting point of view.
Hi Giorgio,
ReplyDeleteYes, there's corruption in Ukraine, and we hear about it. I'm not happy because the Ukrainian president travels around the world asking for help. This help costs us taxpayers!
Yes, in my opinion, we need to help the weaker, the people, when tragedy and harm occur, but I don't agree with corruption! On the issue of corruption, Russia and Ukraine can shake hands.
Giorgio, speaking about Pope Francis and his words. In my opinion, Francis acted very wrongly! I don't know why Pope Francis didn't want to call the truth by its name in Putin's war against sovereign, independent Ukraine? He acted shamefully by not saying directly that Putin is a murderer, a terrorist, a war criminal? I don't know why the Pope didn't call the aggressor an aggressor? No, a murderer, a criminal is never equal to the victim? Never!!! I don't know why Francis was such a hypocrite on this issue. Did Pope Francis really act unworthily in the past, and did the Kremlin have evidence of it? Was this the reason for Francis's disastrous stance? Was he afraid of making the truth public?
Calling the vile, despicable Nazi Dugina a "poor girl" was a damned indiscretion (I'm putting it mildly)!!!
As a Catholic, a Christian, I’m ashamed of Francis's stance!
We have just an example of what barbaric act was to be committed by the hands of Ukrainian traitors.
ReplyDeleteHello, Anna.
DeleteFirstly, Thank you for sharing your thought about this topic.
With regards to Pope Francis, when he said his point of view about the connection between Russia's invasion and Britain & United States' provocation, billions of weapons, missiles, military equipment and tanks had already been shipped to Ukraine. An outright arm race were held in Ukraine from 2019 to 2021. Not to mention of military drills put in place three times in 2021, by British and American army, close to the Russian border. And it is not a coincidence the fact that Zelensky became president in 2019.
He, Pope Francis, knew such information.
In relation to $ 100 million corruption scandal, you know that I never agreed on sending EU taxpayers money to Ukraine and its comedian.
I hope the authors of the railway line sabotage in Poland will be prosecuted.
Un po' alla volta "forse"la verità verra a galla.Buon notte Giò!
ReplyDeleteWe have already understood how this war was provoked. And as soon as Zelensky flees the country, we will know a lot of information about corruption and EU taxpayers' money stolen by Ukrainian officials, government ministers and businessmen.
DeleteI love your last sentence in this post. I also want to thank you for your comment on my post today. Ohh, Knock my socks off or they knocked me out of my socks. Yes, it means something soooooo extremely impressive or surprising.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing the explaination, Nicole :-)
DeleteThis is a complicated situation, and it’s interesting to see how the media story is changing now. It shows how many layers there are behind this war.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thursday, Giorgio!
Since 2022 both sides have been attempting to control the information environment through various means, including propaganda and misinformation.
DeleteBeautiful blog
ReplyDeletePlease read my post
ReplyDeleteHi dear friend, thank you so much for your visit and kind comment on my blog today. My photos were of Montreal, not Melbourne. Don't worry, I am not upset or angry at all, just wanted to clarify.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a great week.
Interesting perspective; it's thought-provoking to consider how media focus and political narratives shape public perception of conflicts like this.
