Italian food

It seems that many people around the world think Italians are so obsessed with food. Actually, we (Italian people) have a bond with food, as it gives a sense of identity.

In certain periods of history some foods were created and have become traditional and typical dishes of Italian culture. An article summarizing the relationship between Italians and food, just published in BBC website by Anna Bressanin, explains that in Italy "sharing a meal means daily joys, problems and sometimes our deepest neuroses and issues". It is an act of social conviviality that the author of the article defines as "a collective catharsis through pleasure".

I don't want to get off track, but increasing demand from East Asia, climate change, water shortages and pandemic-hit supply chains are all pushing up food prices.

  2. Italian food is already very well known throughout the world because of its unique, delicious and distinctive taste.
Interestingly, the BBC's coverage states that there is a connection between Italian and food through its traditional cultural history.
It is interesting that in Italy sharing a meal together means daily joys,
it is a really fine and commendable act of social hospitality.
Great pictures and delicious food above.
    Have a nice week

    1. Glad to hear you enjoyed my post. Maybe Italian food is known because of its link with olive oil, which is a distinctive ingredient (olive trees are cultivated along the arc of territory coasting the Mediterranean sea).
      Thanks for your kind words!

  3. Everyone in the world will immediately know when asked where pizza comes from ....., the brand must simultaneously say the name of your country of origin, Italy !.

Yes, even pizza is very famous in my country, Giorgio ...., there are authentic taste pizzas like the one in your country, and some are prepared with various flavors and toppings according to local tastes.
