Southern corridor

A political leader's first duty is the welfare, progress and protection of his/her people and country he/she serves. That's why last month Hungary's prime minister, Viktor Orban, apparently issued a warning to his NATO allied. He said that Hungary would "go to war if energy supply were attacked".

In 2022 Germany faced energy crisis after Nord Stream pipelines were attacked. And U.S. journalist Seymour Hersh accused Washington of orchestrating the attack on the two pipelines .

As it is known, Nord Stream 1 and 2 were built to deliver Russian gas to some EU countries via Germany. And despite last year a few world powers worked togheter on blowing up the Nord Stream pipelines, Hungary and Serbia, which are two landlocked countries, can still purchase natural gas from the Caspian basin through the Azerbaijan, Türkiye (Trans Anatolian pipeline) and Bulgaria.

In this perspective, the Hungarian prime minister made recently it very clear that if anybody would like to do the same thing with the Southern Corridor, as it was done with the Nord Stream, his country "will consider it as a reason for war".

Hungary is a true independent and sovereign country, not like Vassal states.

The two above pictures were taken by my daughters in 2019 while they were visiting the capital of Hungary, Budapest.

Have a nice weekend!

    1. U.S. journalist Seymour Hersh made this point and said there is evidence about the attack on the two pipelines.

  2. Hello Giorgio!
I agree with you 100%: the duty of a political leader is the welfare, progress and protection of his people and country!!! That's why I’m furious that Poland will be ruled by the opposition and Tusk will most likely be Prime Minister! Poland will become a faithful servant of Germany.
The Polish opposition (and the media that serve it) are making Victor Orban into a devil, a madman and a dictator.
The funniest: Tusk has found an advocate in the person of Lukashenko.
Giorgio, my good friend I salute you and I wish you a good Sunday!

    1. Hello, dear friend Anna❗
I would have never thought Poland could become a Germany's puppet. I do hope this will not happen. In the late 1990s I hoped the four countries of the so called Visegrád Group wouldn't join EU and NATO. Those four Central European countries (the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia) are not only linked by neighbourhood and similar geopolitical situation but above all by common history, traditions, culture, and values. I was sorry to see those countries joining EU and NATO. On the contrary, the four countries could create a political and economic alliance.

Have a nice Sunday, Anna ☀️

    1. In my opinion, it's a war against an unipolar world ... Russia, China, India, Iran, Argentina, Brasil and the whole African continent want a multipolar world.

  4. Viktor Orban thinks about the interests of the Hungarian people, NOT the interests of the United States. Hungary is an independent and sovereign country.
The Americans blew up the Nord Streams, but Germany and other countries remained silent. Now you all buy gas at a much higher price.
Is this what friends do? Is the USA a friend to Germany and other European countries? The US is fomenting wars around the world.
Probably, European countries like to hug the terrorist Zelensky and support Israeli criminals who have already killed 5,000 Palestinian children. Will you soon be at war with Iran and China?
I saw the Blinken kids' Halloween costumes on TV. The boy was wearing a Zelensky suit, and the colors of the girl’s dress and scarf resembled the flag of Ukraine. Even Blinken considers Ukraine a country of Satan, and Zelensky an evil spirit.

    1. Despite 5000 Palestinian children killed by Israeli missiles, the International Criminal Court hasn't issued yet arrest warrants against Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of Israel. He has agreed on hitting schools, hospitals, ambulance convoys, mosques, and kindergartens. Everybody knows that such crimes have been committed in Gaza Strip and Palestinian West Bank. The International Criminal Court remains silent!

  5. Hey Giorgio! Back in 2019, Benjamin Netanyahu wrote that if the countries of the world do not want the country of Palestine, then they should support Hamas, help Hamas with money. Israel has supported Hamas all this time.
October 7 - military operation by the United States and Israel. They planned to kill all these people. To ensure that there were more dead and more hostages, the music festival was held near the Gaza Strip.
What is it for? Of course, to wipe Gaza off the face of the earth by killing all the inhabitants of Gaza.

    1. Hello, Irina!
We have already said that the music festival was held close to the Gaza border and that Egyptian Intelligence Agency warned Israel about the attack. In addition, there weren't Israeli soldiers close to Gaza's gateways and in the small villages located close to the border. There are evidence about this point! That's why it's easy to see that Israeli government was looking for a provocation from Hamas.
But how can you say Israel wants to kill all the inhabitants of Gaza? There are about two million Palestinians who live there. I think Israeli government simply want to kill Hamas fighters who are there in the Gaza Strip. As an alternative, Israel wants Hamas fighters to leave Gaza territory.
Obviously I disagree on Israel's attacks, as every day kindergartens, schools, hospitals, ambulance convoys, residential buildings and refugee camps have been hitting by heavy Israeli bombing. It is a disgusting behaviour which should be considered as a crime against humanity.
In addition to this, there are two big problems:
      firstly, Muslim people who live in those countries located in the Middle East remain silent;
secondly, the United States agrees on such crimes against humanity ... that's why the International Criminal Court doesn't see, and has never seen, Israeli crimes in Palestine's West Bank and Gaza Strip.

  6. Lights and shadows talking about Orban. True he defends and protects interests of his country but freedom is not a word people inside Hungary know and can live everyday. I am wondering why freedom of people and political leaders not submissed to EU and USA don't exist in real Life

    1. Actually, people who live in countries submissed to USA believe they're free.

    2. Yes You are right, I was simply asking why is impossible for people of every country to have political leaders at the same time able to be free from USA, EU etc....and giving to the people of their countries real freedom

  8. Some of these countries, like Russia, China, and Iran, may view multipolarity as a means to counterbalance the dominance of Western nations in international affairs.
Love the photos of Hungary. I hope to visit someday.

    1. I agree on this point! According to international law, a country adopts a measure in response to unwelcome acts by another state, which is intrinsically lawful.

  10. Actually, I don't agree when I hear the word 'war'. Why can't we just do it peacefully and talk to each other? War is painful... it makes me sad when I see countries that are still at war.

  11. Unfortunately a lot of countries in Europe, dont have any planning for a real energetic eficience. Now there are troubles and what is possible to do? Nothing. Because the energy is of the neighbour. Only the nordic countries have his own and good energetic system. And chesp energy too for his citizens.

    1. There is pipeline gas supply from Algeria to Southern Europe, which consists of two main entry points:
      1. the Medgaz pipeline to Portugal via Morocco and Spain;
      2. the TransMed pipeline, which sees gas flow to mainland Italy
      through Tunisia and Sicily.
