1st March

I took the above picture while I was walking along a neighborhood market of the town. There were many varieties of beans and chickpeas in a traditional market stall. They remind me the importance of eating  legumes, which provide mainly protein and fiber. Not to mention of magnesium, copper , iron and phosphorous.

The weather was mainly rainy in late February this year, and fishing boats did not sail. When fishermen can't go to the sea, they mend their nets close to their fishing vessels. Those workers provide bluefish, such as snapper and mackerel, which are a good source of potassium, selenium and vitamin 12. I don't like eating farmed fish, as diseases can sometimes spread more easily in overcrowded conditions of a singular species of fish.

An old typical red brick building, which I saw when in Rome yesterday. That old building helps people remember the construction techniques in ancient Rome.

a lovely image of the iPhone 15 advert.

On the way back I noticed, once again, that the cell phone can be a false companion and a huge problem nowadays, as most people are looking at smartphone all the time.

On the other hand, I think mobile phone makes our lives easier, as it connects groups of individuals sharing common interest and goals.

Have a nice month of March ☀

  3. Hi Giorgio, I will start my comment with fish. I love to eat fish!!! :) I for breakfast today ate herring in cream, for dinner I will eat mackerel in tomato sauce :) I talk about legumes - I like on average.
Giorgio beautiful are the flowers in the photo!!!
Cell phones... I really dislike that many people cross the street without looking. Whether some car is driving and they look at their phones! Unfortunately, but I even today saw young people - they were crossing the street in a forbidden place and looking from their phones!!!
My good friend, I salute you and I wish you a good weekend!

    1. Hello, Olga!
I don't understand which banner are you talking about. I made it four years ago. Anyway, if you mean "Total pageview", you can find it in Blogger's widgets. Otherwise, if you are talking about the colour of the last page, I firstly clicked on "layout". Then "designer di temi" and last "sfondo".

  8. Giorgio, your post beautifully intertwines food, culture, and technology. I agree with your appreciation for wild-caught fish and the enduring legacy of ancient Rome's architecture.

    Love the photos.

  9. Very nice post. I love the bags that the beans are in. LOL Yes, mending nets is very important. That brick house is beautiful. My brother and SIL and a family friend are in Rome right now. As for the cell phones I think, and it is only my opinion, have destroy many things. Human contact, more bullying for kids and adults, not ever looking up to see what is around you. Before cell phones we all took care of business and relationships just fine. And had time to enjoy our surroundings. Again, just my opinion. I only use my phone to speak on. I don't even text. :) Have a nice day today.

I completely agree with you on cell Phones, Nicole. They have been destroying human contacts.

  10. Hello Giorgio, I wish you a happy month of March.

    I did enjoy your post.
So nice to see the beans and the very colourful flowers.
Nice to see the fishermen mending their nets and the building in Rome.

Your photograph of people looking at their mobile phones is quite sad, but a sorry reflection of our times, as is the fact that 'Mobile phones are set to be prohibited in schools across England as part of the government’s plan to minimise disruption and improve behaviour in classrooms.'

    Enjoy your weekend.

    All the best Jan

    1. Thank you for sharing the link of the guidance issued last month by the British department of education. In England the mobile phones ban also concerns break times. I agree on this. Actually, as mentioned by the British department of education, using mobile phones in schools can lead to online bullying. I didn't know that last year the Unesco called for mobile phones to be banned from schools. That's a Very interesting article. Thanks again, Jan!

      Have a nice week ☀️
