Old pharmacy in medieval times

I took the picture of the lemon tree yesterday on a sunny Friday.  I saw that tree in a private garden in the town center. I thought the owner of the tree is so lucky, as he/she can enjoy his/her small garden located in the town center. If I had a garden or a backyard I would have mainly lemon trees.

The door and the window in the above picture date back to the thirteenth century. An old pharmacy was located there, that's why there is still an old stone plaque above the ancient door.

An old port access gate, which was used in medieval times, is still in good condition.

The weather will be rainy here in the next 2 days. Have a nice weekend 🌧🌦

  4. Hi Giorgio!
My friend, this must be a very interesting place. I, while in Cracow, I visited the apothecary museum.
I talk about lemon - a wonderful tree!!! I extremely regret that citrus fruits don't grow in Poland :(
Giorgio, I always drink tea with lemon or quince juice, in winter is raspberry juice often. I speak of lemons I like lemon pie too, the pie is made by my mother.
Giorgio, I wish you a beautiful Sunday!

  5. Your photo of the old pharmacy door and window is most captivating, Giorgio.
It's amazing to think about the lives and stories that must have passed through that entrance centuries ago.
Such a shame that lemons don't grow in my tropical corner of the world because I love the scent of lemon 🍋

    Happy Sunday!

  6. Buona domenica, caro Giorgio! Mi piacciono molto le tue foto! Vivo in Siberia, i limoni non crescono qui. Ci sono posti in Russia dove crescono limoni, arance e mandarini.

  10. DOORS OF THE PAST

Doors of the past smile to the sky
Out times bow to dignity of love
And the beauty of a lemon tree
Comes to us to tell that
A hope of light still exists
    Harsh though it might be
    The way to reach it.
