Effects of the trade war

Finally a beautiful and sunny spring Sunday!

With regards to the ongoing trade war, yesterday I have heard that many EU and China politicians and economics experts warned about higher tariffs that will likely add to inflaction. Actually, I know that liquor and wine sold at restaurants, which are located in the United States, is mainly imported from Europe. This means that American restaurants' owners will not have enough margin of profit due to Trump's trade war. I also think many Amercan farmers will face the same problem because of rising price of ferlitizers, which are imported from Canada and Saudi Arabia and Qatar.

In my humble opinion, retailers have to contact their customers about the impact of new tariffs. Not to mention of the sharp stock markets sell-off triggered by Trump's aggressive tariff rollout.

Happy Sunday everyone 🌼☀🌺

  1. Hi Giorgio! Due to numerous American sanctions, Russia and Belarus have avoided a trade war with the US. Because we have no trade relations.

  5. A beautiful sunny day indeed. We have had a few sunny days but they have been slightly cooler! Warmer days will be here soon :-D

This whole fiasco is just turning into a major bitching session! Let's face it, that's all the politicians do anyway, bitch about each other. Crazy world we are living in.

  6. A beautiful day, the first photo is great.

The trade war will hurt the US.
It's possible that the protests in the US will spread further and become larger.

  7. Great views!!! Unfortunately, but I have a deterioration of the weather in Poland :(
Giorgio speaking of Trump's decisions, I know Americans very angry with the US president. They say that the life of “ordinary” Americans will deteriorate a lot.

    1. Inflaction rate will rise in the US.

In the meanwhile, I have noticed many people here in EU haven't been buying US' goods since later last week. As it is known, on the supermarkets' shelves there are walnuts (California), Whiskey (Tennessee), peanuts, flour, dried plum, smoked salmon (Alaska) and other goods shipped from the US.

Extreme poverty in the US will increase, unfortunately.

  8. Such pretty photos. I wish the sun would come out here. It's rainy here. You are so right. Restaurant owners in my state are already feeling the crunch and I am sure many of them will either stop selling liquor or close all together. Farmers are feeling it too, not only due to terrifs but because of all of the hard working, legal immigrants who have been deported. Yesterday, the entire US came out in protest against the (thing) it was a beautiful site. He and doge have already ruined our country. My thought is, how can one man and his butt buddy destroy, refuse to follow the law, do what ever he wants and no one stops him. I mean if any other person did what he is doing they would be in jail.

    1. Dear Nicole, my question is: how can American people and workers vote for such an idiot as president of their country❓ Since 2023 I have met many American tourists ... everybody said he/she would not vote for Trump. Everybody knows Trump was and still is a US oligarchs' puppet. Chinese experts are right as they said he and his government are acting for private interests. Actually, after the stock market decrease by 20%, he and his oligarch friends will buy stocks at a cheaper price. That's their goal ‼

Thank you for sharing your interesting comment, Nicole :-)

  11. Hi Giorgio. The question you posed on your comment is one I have been asking myself as well. My entire family except me and 2 nephews voted for the "thing" When I talk to my SIL a smart woman, she is so for the "thing" and what he is doing. At every turn she has made it ok in her brain. My daughter is the same way. The people who voted for him are certainly brained washed and there is no changing their minds. Even now when prices on food are so high and all agencies have been attacked by doge. On FB I would read, from repubs how the "thing" will bring down prices, make life better. I would try to explain to them how
that won't work and that prices are not what he is about. Of course for the rich they just want tax breaks and what ever else the "thing" will give them. It bothers me that so many young people are in his cult. Unless something drastic is done, and soon, we are lost as a nation.

  14. Totally agree—these tariffs are hitting way more than just politics. Restaurants, farmers, even regular shoppers are feeling it. The market dip doesn’t help either. Let’s hope things calm down soon.

    Beautiful photos, Giorgio!

    Enjoy the sunshine! 🌞
