Yesterday Jeff Besof and Lauren Sanchez's Venetian wedding came to a close with a final star-studded party. The events are estimated to cost about € 40 million, or $ 55.6 million. This figures bring to mind people who are homeless because they can not afford the rents costs.
According to a study by Willian J. Robinson, there were 130,000 homeless people in Los Angeles in 2021, 1,000 of whom died in the street in 2022.
Have a nice Sunday ☀
Che spreco, poteva pensare ai senza tetto!
ReplyDeleteWow that is really cost fortune
ReplyDeleteVenice doesn't need his money. Sub-Saharian people do.
DeleteBeautiful place to get married though.
ReplyDeleteThe best probably. 👌😁
Hi Giorgio!
ReplyDeleteMy friend, I will begin my commentary on the recent events in Venice as follows:
Venice is one of: the most beautiful, most wonderful, most noble, most magnificent, most interesting places in the world!!!
The pearl of Poland is Krakow - the pearl of Europe is Venice!!!
Venice is one of the most magnificent jewels on the necklace of the world!!!
Now about Bezos' wedding:
In my opinion the perfect commentary I read here:

This is a lovely and romantic, peaceful place for a wedding. And of course the more beautiful the more costly it will be. I laughed at the sign in your second photo, Giorgio! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the picture, Linda. Actually, richer people should pay more taxes.
DeleteJeff Besof and Lauren Sanchez's Venetian wedding shows that richer people become richer again and again.
Truly a beautiful place to get married, have food, drink, nice clothes and feel happy. But you are right, the homeless across america is shameful and with all the cuts to housing that the, "thing" has approved there will be more homeless, more hungry kids and adults, and more dying in the streets.
ReplyDeleteIt's so sad!
DeleteOligarchy destroys democracy and ultimately the lives of many people who can no longer afford to live.
ReplyDeleteTrue. Extreme poverty has risen sharply since 2022.
DeleteComparison wise. Two people in love marry in a city they love are trashed because they have money is hypocritical. If two homeless people married and under their favorite bridge, it wouldn’t make news.
ReplyDeleteHow much money did the wedding bring into the Venice economy?
News sources report…1.1 BILLION!
The rich do what they want and they don't care about anyone else. I don't know a lot about him and nothing of his bride but from what I have read he seems to have a limitless supply of money, so surely with his wealth he can solve many of the world's problems??
ReplyDeleteYes, he and other millionaires can.
Delete...this is shameful!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete$ 55.6 million would be useful to create jobs and to build houses for homeless.
DeleteSiempre he querido conocer Venecia. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThat meme is just a winner
ReplyDeleteIt’s crazy to think about that kind of extravagance while so many struggle just to find shelter. The contrast is heartbreaking—especially knowing how many lives are lost on the streets each year. Really makes you reflect on what matters most.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ahead, Giorgio!
The whole wedding in Venice was to me utterly ridiculous. Why, oh why would those to want to get married there, just don't understand it.
ReplyDeleteAll that money wasted - such a pity, and disgraceful.
