Yesterday Jeff Besoz and Lauren Sanchez's Venetian wedding came to a close with a final star-studded party. The events are estimated to cost about € 40 million, or $ 55.6 million. This figures bring to mind people who are homeless because they can not afford the rents costs.
According to a study by Willian J. Robinson, there were 130,000 homeless people in Los Angeles in 2021, 1,000 of whom died in the street in 2022.
Have a nice Sunday ☀
Che spreco, poteva pensare ai senza tetto!
ReplyDeleteWow that is really cost fortune
ReplyDeleteVenice doesn't need his money. Sub-Saharian people do.
DeleteBeautiful place to get married though.
ReplyDeleteThe best probably. 👌😁
Hi Giorgio!
ReplyDeleteMy friend, I will begin my commentary on the recent events in Venice as follows:
Venice is one of: the most beautiful, most wonderful, most noble, most magnificent, most interesting places in the world!!!
The pearl of Poland is Krakow - the pearl of Europe is Venice!!!
Venice is one of the most magnificent jewels on the necklace of the world!!!
Now about Bezos' wedding:
In my opinion the perfect commentary I read here:
https://www.pudelek.pl/echa-slubu-bezosa-i-sanchez-kupieni-przyjaciele-i-bezwstydny-pokaz-demoralizujacego-bogactwa-okiem-pudelka-7172884856155008a
This is a lovely and romantic, peaceful place for a wedding. And of course the more beautiful the more costly it will be. I laughed at the sign in your second photo, Giorgio! :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed the picture, Linda. Actually, richer people should pay more taxes.
DeleteJeff Besof and Lauren Sanchez's Venetian wedding shows that richer people become richer again and again.
Truly a beautiful place to get married, have food, drink, nice clothes and feel happy. But you are right, the homeless across america is shameful and with all the cuts to housing that the, "thing" has approved there will be more homeless, more hungry kids and adults, and more dying in the streets.
ReplyDeleteIt's so sad!
DeleteOligarchy destroys democracy and ultimately the lives of many people who can no longer afford to live.
ReplyDeleteTrue. Extreme poverty has risen sharply since 2022.
DeleteComparison wise. Two people in love marry in a city they love are trashed because they have money is hypocritical. If two homeless people married and under their favorite bridge, it wouldn’t make news.
ReplyDeleteHow much money did the wedding bring into the Venice economy?
News sources report…1.1 BILLION!
The rich do what they want and they don't care about anyone else. I don't know a lot about him and nothing of his bride but from what I have read he seems to have a limitless supply of money, so surely with his wealth he can solve many of the world's problems??
ReplyDeleteYes, he and other millionaires can.
Delete...this is shameful!!!!!!!!
ReplyDelete$ 55.6 million would be useful to create jobs and to build houses for homeless.
DeleteSiempre he querido conocer Venecia. Te mando un beso.
ReplyDeleteThat meme is just a winner
ReplyDeleteIt’s crazy to think about that kind of extravagance while so many struggle just to find shelter. The contrast is heartbreaking—especially knowing how many lives are lost on the streets each year. Really makes you reflect on what matters most.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week ahead, Giorgio!
Thank you for leaving your interesting comment, Veronica :-)
DeleteThe whole wedding in Venice was to me utterly ridiculous. Why, oh why would those to want to get married there, just don't understand it.
ReplyDeleteAll that money wasted - such a pity, and disgraceful.
That's right. It was ridiculous.
DeleteHello, Giorgio! I saw this wedding on the TV news.
ReplyDeleteGiorgio, I also saw on the news about another wedding that almost happened in France. An adult man was going to marry a 9 year old Ukrainian girl.
This is not the first time that Ukrainian children have been sold to pedophiles.
Oh, No! How can a man marry a 9 year old girls? I've heard this news, and I believe that French law does not allow this. Actually,
DeleteFrench prosecutors have charged a British man with offenses including a fake marriage with a 9 year old girl.
Of course, in France it wasn't a real wedding. Why was it necessary to organize this show?
DeleteIt seems he, the British man, rent a theme park before it opened to the public on Saturday, in a contract worth € 130,000 ... actually, the main crime was money-laundering.

DeleteIt's strange that Zelensky was not invited.
DeleteHe can't be prosecuted in France, as he committed money-laundering crime in Ukraine. Consequently, he will be arrested, prosecuted and judged by his own people in his own country.
DeleteZelensky could ask Jeff Besoz for money.
DeleteYou said it's strange that Zelensky was not invited. What invitation are you talking about ⁉️ ... the fake wedding in France or the Venetian 4 days wedding.
DeleteIt is strange that Zelensky was not invited. He could ask Jeff Besoz for money.
DeleteOn July 1, Macron called Putin. They talked for 2 hours. Zelensky was angry that Macron did not ask his permission.
DeleteI did not know that Zelensky became the boss for the leaders of the EU countries. Probably, when Zelensky comes, they all bow to him and kiss his hands.
No, Zelensky was and still is a Washington's puppet.
DeleteGet married by all means but to spend that huge sum of money for a four-day wedding with I believe at least 90 private jets flying in is ridiculous and shameful.
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
True! This is shameful!
DeleteObscenity writ large. Yet people still buy on Amazon.
ReplyDeleteWow, the scale of that wedding in Venice is truly immense, especially when you consider it against the backdrop of the struggles many face just to find a place to live. It really highlights the stark disparities that exist. Your reflection on the heartbreaking statistics of homelessness in places like Los Angeles is a very important one.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely gives pause for thought. Thanks for sharing these impactful observations.

Glad to hear your appreciation, Melody. Thank you for sharing your thoughts about inequality. I think there is a relationship between inequality and instability. And I am afraid richer people are becoming richer. As it is known, policy-makers are billionaires' puppets, that's why governments don't raise taxes on richer people. Unfortunately, billonaires are unchecked.
DeleteGreetings from the 42nd parallel,
Giorgio
ReplyDeleteUn fuerte abrazo
