Last week we saw Turkey's diplomatic engaged both with the United States and Russia. The next step will be made by the US president, as he is going to hold separate phone calls with his Russian and Ukrainian counterparts.
As mentioned by Pope Francis in a 2022 interview, "NATO barking at Russia's door" caused the Kremlin to "react badly and unleash the conflict".
The interview was published by the Italian newpaper "Corriere della Sera" and other International news agencies.

It's easy to understand what was the reaction of the so-called Western world, considering that from that day on Pope Francis has never again expressed his point of view on the reasons that triggered Moscow's reaction.
On a sunny Monday I wrote down this post today, which is not related to tourist destinations or beautiful corners of the world. I know that some topics, such as Ukraine-Russia ceasefire or Palestine genocide, are boring. Sorry for that. It was just to share my thoughts, as it seems that those who barked at the Kremlin's gates (according to 2022 Pope Francis' interview) are now trying to make a negotiation.
Have a nice new week.
Giorgio, Ukraine is a free, sovereign, independent state!!! Get Russia and Putin out of Ukraine! Russia is a vile, despicable terrorist, aggressor!!! Putin is a bloody criminal!!! Without Russia, the world would be a better place.
ReplyDeleteDear Anna, without Russia and China we would see an unipolar world. There are no doubts that using military force to interfere in another state's affairs is a crime according to international law. But spreading false information or manipulating public discourse to influence another state's policies or elections is also an international crime.
DeleteIf Ukraine were a "free, sovereign, independent state" (as you mentioned), the democratic elected president wouldn't be overthrown in 2014 by US secret service intervention. They are attempts at destabilization of a strategic nature.
Not to mention of Westerners' double standard with regards Netanyahu and his Palestine genocide.
Hello Anna, I agree with your comment. I just made a comment myself and you will understand when you see it. I feel exactly the way you do.
DeleteLinda, we are not talking about agreeing with Russia's government. The problem is that Western media system has been covering true information about what happened in 2014 when Ukrainian democratically elected president was overthrown by US secret service intervention.
DeleteUnfortunately, brainwashed people continue to analyse Russia-Ukraine war since February 2022.
Thanks for the clarification, Giorgio.
DeleteUkraine is a free, sovereign and independent state??? Only poorly educated people who do not understand anything about what is happening in the world can say this.
DeleteI have never called Andrzej Duda a criminal, although he is a criminal because he supports the terrorist and Nazi Zelensky.
Anna, you have no right to bark at GREAT RUSSIA!!!
Prime Minister Donald Tusk is one of Zelensky's gang of drug-addicted friends! What a pleasant company!
DeleteIt is not easy to understand whether we are talking about ignorance or hypocrisy. Everybody knows that in 2021, prior to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the UK and US made three military exercises on the Ukrainian ground representing the largest mobilisation since WWII.
DeleteGiorgio, since 2014, Ukraine has been loaded with weapons. Ukraine was promised NATO membership and prepared for war with Russia. Donbass was only the first step. Ukraine was supposed to attack Russia from the territory of Donbass.
DeleteIn December 2021, the Russian Foreign Ministry requested a diplomatic meeting with the United States. But the Biden government refused. In early 2022, Russia again turned to the United States, but there was no response.
Therefore, on February 24, a special military operation began.
If a fight cannot be avoided, you must attack first!
My opinion is that negotiations should definitely continue until an agreement is reached. That's what I wish for the people who have been suffering for so long.
ReplyDeleteI wish you a very nice new week Giorgio
I am afraid we will see a never ending war in Ukraine.
DeleteThank you for sharing your point of view, Andrea :-)
Dear Giorgio, I am not a fan of Vladimir Putin and his need for control, his aggression toward his Ukrainian neighbours and his want to take a sovereign country. I read your response to Anna's comment. To be honest, I am not very knowledgeable in politics or the world's history, etc. I live in Montreal, Canada, and we are a sovereign, independent country. Yes, we are part of North America, but Canada is...Canada. Right now Donald Trump, who in my view is acting like Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong Un, who are both dictators, wants to make Canada the 51st state. Although myself and most Canadians, who are neighbours of the U.S., love our American neighbours and are happy to be neighbours, we do not want to lose our "Canada", with the 10 provinces and territories, by becoming a U.S. 51st state. Even the Americans, a good number of them, anyway, are saying, "We stand for Canada". Just recently we had people, and many of them, come here to Montreal, Quebec, Canada, to let us know that they are on our side and that they support us as a sovereign and independent nation. Trump wants to take the Gaza Strip as well as Greenland. In my opinion, he is being ridiculous, selfish, childish and aggressive.
ReplyDelete... if Mexico or Canada were to interfere with United States internal affairs to influence policies or elections, Washington would invade them in less than 24 hours. On the contrary, we can see US intervention in the domestic matters of other countries (Poland, Romania, Ukraine, etc.).
DeleteHi Giorgio, so sorry, I got into a rant about this but I needed to express how I feel. I wanted you to know that I appreciate your posts as well as your visits and kind comments on my blog. Have a wonder filled week, dear friend. :)
ReplyDeleteI understand that many people avoid talking about the real reasons that caused the war. Similarly, many people prefer not to talk about the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip and the fact that Israel considers Palestine as "a land without a people".
DeleteWe, Westerners, are covering up crimes against humanity perpetrated by Israel, that's why we judge the Russian government with a double standard.
I am so glad to see your point of view about this hot topic, Linda. Thanks for that :-)
,,,plain and simple, Putin is a war criminal.
ReplyDeleteAs is often the case, many change the subject and turn the argument to Putin. The question Western journalists avoid answering is who give them (US secret service) the right to overthrown the democratically elected Ukrainian President ❓ ... in 2014 Ukrainian people democratically elected their president.
DeleteThese are critical issues that deserve reflection, and your post raises an important point about how narratives shift when geopolitical strategies face real consequences.
ReplyDeleteExactly, my friend. Everybody knows that in 2021, prior to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, the UK and US made three military exercises on the Ukrainian ground representing the largest mobilisation since WWII. And that the reason why Pope Francis after Russia had invaded East Ukraine said "NATO barking at Russia's door" caused the Kremlin to "react badly and unleash the conflict".
DeleteOjala algún día haya paz. Te mando un beso
ReplyDeleteInteresting to read the comments. I chuckle to myself. I just wish there were no wars and those poor people had peace.
ReplyDeletePoor Ukrainian people fell in this trap, as we already saw Syria, Serbia, Iraq, Libya, etc.
DeleteI think old the Pope was right with that quote about NATO barking at Russia's door. Perhaps the war would have happened anyway?
ReplyDeleteThis saga will carry on and on and on I think. The rich and corrupt make so much money from wars, why would they want to stop it?
I agree with your replies to others about the West covering up the truth with this war and the one in Gaza. There are so many lies being fed to us these days. People need to wake up and open their eyes to what is really going on!!!
Keep posting these sort of posts Giorgio. People will open their eyes eventually.
How can people be so blind? I hope they will open their eyes eventually.
DeleteThank you for sharing your point of view, Ananka.
Giorgio, Ananka is very young, but she is a wise person.
DeleteThe shifting dynamics of diplomacy are always interesting to follow, and it's important to reflect on how narratives evolve over time.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your perspective, Giorgio!
Tu pensi che la Nato sia la causa della guerra?Mah,non so...
ReplyDelete... a 5th grade boy/girl would understand this.
DeleteLife is a choice, and we can choose what we want. I can see from the comment section that a lot of people are already politically influenced, and that is what the government wants. Humanity comes first. Ukraine should be a free nation, just like any other nation. No one should die because of a land space; we meet it here and we will also leave it here at some point. No matter the opinion anyone holds, no one deserves to die. Soldiers are losing their lives. This is a political game, and you know what happens when this continues and escalates further: the poor and average people suffer. The rich will provide safe havens for themselves in different places. So, when you are here talking about this and that, remember every human in this life has a right to choose, and if any country wants to be on their own, let them be. Oppression is never the answer. It is cruel to see that people will see others dying and still comment 'terrorist.' I was in Ukraine when the war started, and what a lot of people know who are outside Ukraine is totally different; they have been spoon-fed by the wrong government. Whatever your thought or opinion holds, ask yourself: is it worth people dying? Would you die for this?
ReplyDeleteDear Melody,
Deletethose predators who provoked and triggered the war don't care about human lives. You rightly said the poor and average people suffer, while the rich will provide safe shelters for themselves in other places. But in addition to this, richer people become richer while wars are going on. Not to mention of Gaza Strip, which is not a war. It's a genocide, as 99% of Israel's targets are civilians.
Thank you for your interesting comment, Melody.
