Urban green spaces

It rained all day yesterday, and this is typical of late winter here on 42° parallel (Northern hemisphere). While I was walking through the urban green space, which is shown in the picture above, I thought that such spaces are important aspect of towns and cities. They firstly provide health and wellbeing for kids, and secondly they give us ecological benefits, due to the fact that such green spaces help to combat the effects of climate change.

In the late afternoon of that rainy Friday we enjoyed  the dispersion of light in water droplet. As usual, the rainbow appeared in the section of the sky directly opposed the sun.

Nice weekend to all the members of our blogging community :-)

What beautiful and mysterious lighting Nature had provided! That second photo is fab.

Yes, green space is of extreme importance in our urban areas; thankfully more and more cities are reclaiming such spots. Enjoy your weekend. YAM xx

  2. True, Tom. We need green areas in cities! They give the opportunity to socialize. Not to mention of decreasing noise and air pollution.

    1. True! Kids need green spaces, first. In addition, urban green areas have to be designed to account for the burden a given metropolis’ lifestyle has on the biosphere.

Have a nice time, Tanza :-)

  10. We really do need more green spaces, especially in some of the mega cities of the world where one sees little but concrete.
