Many powers are trying to escalate the war

I have been astonished since I heard that Britain should engage directly in war against Russia. The head of the British Parliament defence committee, Mr. Ellwood, recently said: "We are at war in Europe, we need to move to martial law". It's easy to see that some Western powers want (and need) the Ukrainian-Russian war to escalate.

In this context, the fact that on February 11 Zelensky will be reached via video call, during Italy's festival song, is sparking political controversy. A petition against the speech of Ukrainian president at the Sanremo Festival has been launched in Italy. It is noted that more than 90,000 signatures have been collected until now. The petition, which has been signed by public figures, writers and artists, is against sending weapons to Ukraine, as Italy must end all direct or indirect assistance to one of the parties to the war.

I hope most people will understand soon that the enemy is not China, it is not Russia. The enemy is the military industrial complex. Once again I would like to write Pope Francis' quote about the war in East Europe. In 2022 Pope Francis said: "NATO barking at Russia's doors could have alarmed the Kremlin".

Meanwhile, those politicians calling for weapons & missiles to Ukraine, never call for weapons and missiles for the people of Palestine or for the people of Yemen.

    1. Of course he isn't!
He and the members of Russian government are not victims. But they are simply trying to show to the Western world that they are not defenseless and don't tolerate NATO to cross the so called red line. What they are trying to say is that they don't tolerate NATO expansion closer and closer to the Kremlin. Obviously, we, Westerners, are compelled to believe that China, Russia, Iran, etc. are all monsters.

Not to mention of the doctrine of preemptive self-defense (international law), which US' policy-makers know very well.

Thank you for sharing your point of view, Tom :-)

    1. Absolutely true! UK & US' policy-makers & multinational companies would like to see a neverending war in East Europe. As a result, firstly, they would cut completely any link between some EU countries (Italy, Germany, Hungary, etc.) and Russia, and, secondly, they would make a lot of money by sending weapons and anti-missile systems to Ukraine and to those countries located close to the Russian border (Latvia, Estonia, etc.).

Ukraine should be a neautral state, as we see Finland, Moldova, Georgia, Austria and others, but UK & US (with their mask called NATO) disagreed on this point and crossed the so called red line.

Poor Ukrainian people fell in this trap!

  3. Giorgio I support helping Ukraine. I want the war to end quickly, but... NATO cannot directly take part in the war.
I’m afraid that something bad, very bad could happen... I don't say on purpose, because it could be an accident. I’m very afraid for nuclear power plants. It would be an unimaginable disaster not only in Ukraine, but in the whole of Europe (at least in much of Europe)....

    1. Poland is already taking part in this war. Our Russian guys constantly hear Polish speech on the battlefields. A lot of Polish mercenaries have already died. When the Ukrainians run out (after all, Biden and Johnson said that this war will continue until the last Ukrainian), then Polish troops will fight. Americans do not feel sorry for the Slavs.

    2. Poland recently celebrated the liberation of Auschwitz. But the delegation from Russia was NOT invited. Who liberated Auschwitz from German fascists? Soviet Union! Where are the monuments to the liberators? The Polish authorities destroyed them.

There are 4.5 million Ukrainian refugees in Russia. Children go to school and kindergarten. The adults are at work. Everyone got housing, no one sleeps on the street.

How are refugees treated in Poland? They are terrorized, even children in schools. Your President Duda wants to get 5 Ukrainian regions after the war. The Americans promised him, that's why Poland is behaving so aggressively now.

    3. To Anna:
I am not afraid of a nuclear power plants accident. If such disaster were to happen, nuclear radiations would hit many towns surrounding East Ukraine, including Russian ones (Voronezh, Kursk and Belgorod).

On the contrary, If Russian were to lose their occupied territories in East Ukraine or Ukraine missiles were to hit Russian towns, they would use tactical nuclear weapons.
I think that's the main danger, Anna.

Thank you for leaving your comment, Anna!
      Have a nice weekend :-)

    4. To Irina:

you wrote (as an answer) that delegation from Russia was not invited to the liberation of Auschwitz's celebration, but this has nothing to do with Anna's comment.
Anna wrote she was afraid for nuclear power plants. Obviously she meant that nuclear power plants could be hit by both the belligerents.
In addition, she hopes Ukraine-Russia war will to an end soon.

      Have a nice weekend, Irina!

  4. NATO was created in 1949 to defend against the Soviet threat. When did the Soviet Union and Russia threaten NATO countries? NEVER!
Anna Hudyka does not understand anything, although she calls herself a journalist.
The longer the war goes on, the more Ukrainians die. Soon there will be no Ukrainian men at all. NATO send Poles, Romanians, Moldovans to war.

  5. Anna likes that Ukrainians are dying for the interests of the US military-industrial complex. Anna, when the Poles die for American interests, will you rejoice too? Although the Poles are already dying. Duda just hides it from the people of Poland.

    1. No, Irina! Anna didn't say/wrote that! If you were to read Anna comment, once again, you would understand that she wants the war to "end quickly". Please, Irina, read once again Anna's comment and try to understand her words!

    3. Okay, Irina. You say Anna insulted Russian policy-makers in other blogs of our blogging community. But she, Anna, didn't write such words in my blog. As a result, you could write such things in the blogs that enable Anna to do so.

As you can see we enjoy sharing our points of view though post, articles and comments.

  8. Yemen What? We both know that this would be their "answer" talking to them about this war still going on since 2015 when it started. Coming back to the present and talking about the war still figthing in Ukraine, I notice that seems that is always better beloved and appreciated from UE, than USA and I'm worried because there are days like today when I say to myself "Ok game over. Third world war is going to start"

    1. With regards to Yemen, as it is known, US & UK sold weaponry and missiles to Saudi Arabia's king, who has been killing civilians since 2015. US' missiles, sent by Saudi Arabia to Yemen's territory, hit hospitals, weddings, funerals, etc. ... isn't this considered as an infringement of international law? Yemen is a sovereign state, like Ukraine. In Yemen we saw many crimes against humanity, but nobody talks about international crimes like this (Palestine, Syria, Libya, Gaza Strip, etc.).

On the Ukraine front, there are evidence that the US ordered to its puppets & satellites to send weaponry to Kyiv. The main US' goal is to cut any relationship between Russia & EU. And until now they have been succeeded.
US tanks will be delivered in 9-12 month. This demonstrates that the US policy-makers & US multinational companies are so glad to see a neverending war in East Europe.

Thank you Daniele for sharing your point of view :-)

... Actually, more money spent on weapons & missiles, meant less money spent on people's needs, such as education, health care, public transport, urban footprint, water treatment systems, environment protection, etc.

Unfortunately, poor Ukrainian people fell in the same US & UK's trap as we already saw Syria, Libya, Yemen, etc. ... the US & UK military-industrial complex moves forward inexorably.

  11. "I hope most people will understand soon that the enemy is not China, it is not Russia. The enemy is the military industrial complex." I hope so but Maybe the enemy is not only the military industrial complex but also power groups that have geopolitical interests. I still go on thinking that there is a not so hidden design, and that also involves the EU leaders themselves, to reduce Europe to a conglomeration of satellite nations dominated by USA, Russia and China.

    1. Actually, a strong federal Europe would constitute an agglomeration that would completely alter U.S. significance as an Atlantic power and greatly weaken America's position in the Western Hemisphere.
Since 1970s it has been easy to see that the more united Europe become, the greater its tensions with the United States. Actually, in the early 1990s America policy-makers were so happy so see the fragmentation of both the Soviet empire and the former Yugoslavia. They also agreed with the split of Czechoslovakia, which occurred in 1993. And last but not least, they were so glad to see the UK leaving the EU.
Nowadays Americans are still fearing a European super-state with its single foreign policy, as it would be a competitor of the U.S.

With regards to the three super-powers, which you mentioned (China, Russia & US), it is arguable that, according to a secret agreement, Russia & U.S. have agreed on splitting Ukraine in two: Crimea, Kherson, Luhansk, Donestk and Zaporizhzhia become Russia's territory and Western Ukraine gets under NATO's control.
